Shambhala Buddhism has come into use as an umbrella term referring to the teachings of Karma Kagyü and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, mixed with the various Shambhala teachings and practices revealed by the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche (the 11th Trungpa Tulku and first Sakyong). The present head of the lineage is Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Trungpa Rinpoche's eldest son and heir. The term might also refer to the larger organizations and mandala of communities that practice those teachings.

The purpose of this web site is to catalog and reference topics relating to Shambhala and to Shambhala Buddhism to provide a resource for those communities and for others also interested in Buddhism.
