Promordial Rigden ngöndro is a meditation practice in Shambhala and a form of ngöndro written by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2004 at Shambhala Mountain Center. He described it as being perhaps less written as much as being received during the Vajrayana Seminary retreat occurring at that time.

Students who attend Vajrayana Seminary are now requested to practice this ngöndro after seminary as preparation for the Rigden abhisheka, and they must complete a certain amount of individual practice and group practice. Students who have already completed another ngöndro in the Shambhala tradition may receive this form with a lung by an Acharya (or senior student so authorized) and practice a different amount of individual and group practice before attending the abhisheka.

This ngöndro includes the same basic practices as the Karma Kagyü ngöndro, but the liturgy and visualizations differ.
