LabelingThoughts:Vision

The vision is to serve sentient beings, but in particular to make use of simple, online, collaboration software and as a community decide how to make the best use of it.

This could be:

  • a community created resource and offering for the benefit of others, initially a terminology reference or glossary of terms
  • with a neutral point of view; acknowledging a multiplicity of views
  • open content that any community member may edit

Community created

There is a tremendous value in material and resources that come from the center of the mandala, that provides a direction and shared resources. This site, however, then explores how those outside the center can support each other with additional discussion and sharing of references. So it is not designed to supplant or subvert the official practice and study material, but rather to provide more resources that the community feels inspired to create in addition.

Viewpoints

The Shambhala community is diverse including students of different teachers and different personal paths. A community resource then should reflect that diversity more than any one particular view or presentation. There will always be a multiplicity of views on any term, topic, or historical account. By editing articles with a neutral tone we acknowledge the experience of others and accommodate that diversity.

Open Content

Copyright is a form of protection and fits the traditional publishing model. A collaboration, however, requires that contributed content be shared and offered as part of a commons, and that everyone is free to edit collectively and inspired to lead.
