Foolishness is mentioned in True Perception: The Path of Dharma Art by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. He describes it as a "very powerful and important experience" and recommends viewing phenomenal experience from the point of view of the fool in order to see it properly. This is likely similar to the Zen notion of "zen mind, beginners mind".
