Death

Death in Shambhala is generally discussed in a Buddhist framing, that it is a transition point from life to entering the bardo and then eventually to a subsequent rebirth. Other terms closely related to death are sukhavati and parinirvana, the former referring to both the funeral ceremony traditionally performed in Shambhala and the latter used to denote the death of a realized teachers.

Meditating upon the reality of our mortality is a common contemplative practice and theme within Buddhism. The contemplation of the four reminders is an example of this.

Joking about one's mortality is a common albeit morbid sense of humor in Shambhala, sometimes startling to non-practitioners.
