Contemplative arts and disciplines are a collection of programs and lineages taught or practiced within Shambhala. Though a contemplative approach can be brought to any art form, these are more often presented in a Shambhala context or were promoted specifically by Shambhala founder Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. This category of teachings was also referred to historically as Nalanda, referring to the 11th century university in India that welcomed a diverse mix of traditions.
