Authentic presence is a translation of the Tibetan term wangtang, sometimes also rendered charisma or field of power. It describes a type of personal presence, genuineness, and manifesting a sense of good and wholesomeness.

Rinpoche said there was inner and outer authentic presence. Outer is the result of accumulating merit and virtue. Inner is the result of realizing primordial space and egolessness. Cultivating inner authentic presence results in genuineness and radiate a sense of command. Windhorse practice relates to inner authentic presence.
